Description: Two days high demanding hike to the summit of the first highest volcano in Guatemala and Central America, from where you can watch the inactive crater of this volcano, the pacific coast, the volcanic chain of Guatemala, and the north and western highlands.

Classification: high mountain, alpine landscape, highly demanding.

Altitude: 4,220 mts. (13,845 ft.) above sea level.

Minimun: 3 persons

Basic Information.
  • Duration: Two days.

  • Ascent: 5 hours up hill, first day. 1 hour up hill, second day.

  • Required equipment: Tent, sleeping bag, hiking shoes, warm jacket and clothing, complete equipment.

  • Best time to do this excursion:  from November to April when there's no rain. It's always cooler in the mountains.

  • Weather: normally the temperature is freezing in the evening, night and early morning.

  • Basic requirement: To be in good physical and mental conditioning, not to be sick.
